Private TVAA Figure Drawing

$10 Registration Per Session

Learn how to conduct a figure drawing study with a live model using charcoal, newsprint, and drawing paper. During each standalone session, your instructor--Jessica Henry--will discuss basic human proportions, composition, value and form, and each lesson may focus on an additional special topic, including hands, face, torso, foreshortening (lying down), or drapery over figure.

Each session, we'll learn about optimal work area set-up, basic materials, and dynamic gestures and measuring techniques. As a group, we will learn from each other by sharing our work and discussing our challenges in brief critiques during breaks for our model.

Recommended materials to bring:
- Newsprint paper (14x17 or larger)

- For longer poses, we may use drawing paper (14x17 or larger)
- Charcoal pencils 2B and 4B

- Compressed charcoal sticks 2B, 4B, 6B
- Conté pencils or sticks
- Kneaded eraser
While we encourage you to  bring your own materials to class, we always keep some extra supplies on hand!
