Clay Instructor

Casey has been working in various media over the years including: airbrush painting, printmaking, and ceramics. HIs educational path includes a bachelors of art degree From BSU in 1997 and a Secondary Art Education certification in 2002. Casey's work experience has included a position as a screen printer at a t-shirt shop. At a specialty auto shop, he managed a team of auto body and paint specialists that restored and custom painted older cars.

His business, "Gurr Studios", is his long running part-time, side-gig as a working artist taking commissions on automotive paintworks, murals on all kinds of surfaces, lettering, painted graphics, t-shirts and ceramics.

Casey also worked for more than 17 years as an art educator including fifteen years as a full time art teacher at a public high school. Subjects taught included many levels of; photography(the chemical kind), Drawing, Painting, Design, Printmaking, Pottery, and Sculpture. Casey Started working with Candy before the Catalyst Arts Collaborative and was excited to work with her to build the Studio we have today. I am proud of the place we have built and the team that keeps it going.

Art Instruction:

Beginning to advanced Pottery / Ceramics. Hand-Building and Wheel Throwing.

Printmaking; block printing, Reduction block, Screen Printing.

Drawing techniques

Painting, Airbrush Painting.

Private/ small group lessons.

Commissioned work:

Painted Murals, Shirts and clothing, automotive surfaces, portraits, space-themed fine art paintings.

Custom wheel thrown ceramic vessels / Wares.

Consulting:

Kiln repair, trouble shooting and installation.
