Ongoing, monthly: every second Thursday, 6:30pm - 8:30pm Ages 15+ Ready to rip, snip, and stick your way into something fun and unexpected? Cut & Create is a no-pressure, hands-on collage workshop designed for adults who want to explore their creative side. Whether you're drawn to bold colors, vintage vibes, or abstract expression, collage is a playful and accessible way to unwind and make something uniquely yours. Start from scratch or bring a work-in-progress. Come solo or bring a friend—everyone leaves with a creation and good vibes. Collage is more than cutting and pasting—it's a gateway to visual storytelling, intuitive design, and artistic self-expression. You'll learn how to: - See creatively by combining everyday images in new, surprising ways - Experiment freely without fear of making mistakes—collage invites happy accidents - Develop your eye for color, composition, and visual balance - Use found materials to make art sustainably and spontaneously These skills can spark future projects in journaling, mixed media, vision boarding, and even home décor. Whether you continue on a creative path or simply enjoy the moment, you'll walk away with a deeper sense of play, possibility, and artistic confidence. About your instructor: You'll learn from Candy, a professional artist, educator, and arts advocate with more than 20 years of teaching experience in both public and private settings. Recognized as the 2024 Idaho Community Arts Educator of the Year, she has taught students of all ages, including as an adjunct instructor in Boise State University's Art Education program. Her experience spans a wide range of mediums, including printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, mosaic, photography, weaving, painting, and public art, giving her a broad perspective to share in the classroom. As the founder of Catalyst Arts Collaborative and Art Project Boise, she has helped build opportunities for thousands of artists throughout the Treasure Valley. You can expect a welcoming, encouraging learning environment where creativity, curiosity, and hands-on exploration are at the heart of every workshop.
