Service Description
Every 4th Friday through November 27, 4:00pm - 7:00pm Register for each class separately Ages 15+ In this limited series, students will learn tool safety, how to use carving tools and care for them, how to carve beginner-friendly woodcarving projects, and how to paint and finish their carvings. Your experienced instructor will walk you through every step of this unique medium, from the tools you'll use, to painting your piece. Each workshop in this limited series will walk you through a standalone project, but attending multiple sessions means more opportunities for you to advance your skills. Practice makes progress! Upcoming Session Projects: September 25 - Flower Refrigerator Magnet October 23 - Pine Tree November 27 - Bird feather All supplies will be provided by Catalyst or your instructor. Please bring the following with you: - Good attitude, curiosity, and love of learning Optional to bring: - Specialized safety gloves, if you have a preference About your instructor: John Eric Owens has been carving in the caricature style for 20 years, and has taught wood carving for more than 20 years. He enjoys creating as well as teaching others to reach their potential as a creator.
