Service Description
4-week course: Saturdays, July 11 - August 1, 2:00pm - 4:00pm Ages 14+ This course is perfect for artists looking to level up their acrylic painting skills with knowledge of how to start a painting, navigating the often-challenging middle stages, refining details, and understanding advanced techniques to pull off various looks like fur, water, man-made and organic shapes. Improve your knowledge of acrylic paints by learning more about layering, creating texture, and better blending, with support from instructor, Jessica Henry. Over the 4 weeks of this course, Jessica will be teaching a painting focused on understanding and creating fur texture (the painting will either be that of a bear or a wolf). Prerequisites: - Students should have a basic knowledge of working with acrylics, including appropriate water content, basic blending, gradients, and layering - Students are encouraged to have taken a few introductory acrylics classes All supplies will be provided by your instructor, or by Catalyst. Optional to bring: - Students are encouraged to bring their own brushes if they have them, to get practice working with their own materials About your instructor: Jessica is classically trained artist, with BFA in concept design and visual development from Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She has spent over 10 years working as freelance illustrator and fine artist. She now works in multiple mediums including watercolor, acrylics, and water soluble oils, and teaches lots of our drawing and painting classes at "the Cat!"
