Service Description

2-week course: Thursdays, August 28 - September 4, 6:30pm - 8:30pm Ages 14+ In this workshop, students will explore the art of underglazing on ceramic dinnerware, learning how to mix custom colors, master shading, and apply painting techniques suited to this tricky but rewarding medium. Using provided bisqueware, you’ll create a detailed valley and mountain scene that will be fired and ready to take home for your own kitchen. Along the way, Bekah will demonstrate how to achieve depth, blend tones, and bring your design to life on the unique surface of ceramics. This class is perfect for nature lovers, gift-makers, and anyone looking for a fun, creative evening project. All materials will be provided by your instructor or by Catalyst. Optional to bring: - Reference photos for your mountainscape - *Any pre-made ceramic piece you would want to paint instead of the provided bisqueware - *Any glazes you might be partial to - If you would prefer to use acrylic paint instead of glaze, please bring your own acrylic paint (pieces finished with acrylic paint will not be food-safe) *we will need to make sure your materials would be safe to fire in our kiln
