Service Description

Ongoing class: Every Tuesday, 4:00pm - 6:00pm Ages 11-18 This ongoing class introduces the fundamentals of character illustration, giving you the tools to begin creating your own original characters. Students will learn the basics of proportion, expression, and visual storytelling while exploring influences from anime and comic art. Through guided instruction and hands-on drawing exercises, you will develop a simple character design system that allows you to create consistent and personalized characters. The class encourages creativity and experimentation so you can begin developing your own artistic style! In each session, you'll learn techniques that will allow you to create a character based on yourself or someone you would like to commemorate, illustrated in an anime-inspired style. The finished product will have been created on ready to display art boards with quality ink. Please bring the following with you: - Sketch book - Favorite ink pen - Sharpies - Drawing pad Optional to bring: - Reference material such as favorite comics or anime About your instructor: Damon Bradshaw is a versatile artist traversing many artistic mediums. Whether it’s ink to skin, paint on the walls of buildings, comic books, promotional material and digital art, his art continues to stamp any avenue he can infiltrate. His art, design and layout have been used worldwide for an independent production company Portnow Intertainment Group otherwise known as PIG Records. He’s a professionally trained tattooer and was an artist for Nightcrew Games on their Cyberpunk 2077 project. He’s taught anime drawing classes at cons and continues to share his passion for art through other public interaction events for JUMP Boise.
