Service Description
1-day workshop: Wed, January 28, 6:30pm - 8:30pm Ages 18+ Everyone has that big idea for a screenplay, and it all begins with the first ten pages. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore how to hook a reader from the very start—establishing tone, signaling genre, and introducing characters in ways that feel alive on the page. Through guided discussion, script examples, and short creative exercises, you’ll learn practical techniques for crafting openings that grab attention and set up the story to come. Whether you’re brand new to screenwriting or looking to sharpen your storytelling skills, this class offers a lively, collaborative introduction to the craft of writing for the screen. Please bring the following with you: - A laptop with access to Word or Google Docs, or, - A notebook with pen/pencil for writing exercises Optional to bring: - Layered clothing - Water in a spill-proof bottle About your instructor: Matt Jennings is a creative living in the Boise area. He has an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA, where he honed his craft for storytelling.
