Teacher

Ali Fernandez

Ali has spent her career working for state- and federally-funded programs that support people with disabilities and the aging population, from direct service to policy analysis and program implementation. Besides her day job, she is a skilled fiber artist. She is an expert in knitting, crocheting, and various methods of handspinning yarn and fiber preparation. Ali is passionate about sharing her love of the craft and supporting slow fashion, and she believes that one of life’s most fulfilling experiences is being able to say, “I made that!”

In addition to her expertise in the fiber arts, Ali also enjoys dabbling in other artisan crafts and visual arts. When she isn’t making something (or learning to make something) she is likely tending to her small army of houseplants. Ali lives in Boise with her partner, three cats, and a very big dog.
