Service Description

6-week course: Sundays, October 6 - November 10, 6:00pm - 8:00pm Ages 18+ Birth and Death are the two inevitable events in the life of every human being across all time and every culture. We prepare for the first with great anticipation and mostly choose to ignore the second. Our end of life transition holds the opportunity for healing the wounds we may have accumulated and celebration of the gift of life that we have experienced, but it usually does not happen spontaneously. This course will cover practical information to help one prepare with the added bonus of creative projects for expression of each person's thoughts and feelings as they contemplate how they envision their passage from this life. Through informational presentations, conversations on the week's topic, music, guided meditations, writing exercises, visual art and other creative forms, participants will come to a greater understanding of the dying process, after death care options and dealing with grief in a positive and healing way. Many questions are answered, fears and confusion lessened, and a greater ease experienced, not only with the concept of death, but moving into a greater appreciation and desire to live life in the present to the fullest and highest potential of each person. Week 1: Death Cafe Week 2: The Dying Process Week 3: After Death Care Week 4: Legacy of Love Week 5: The Gift of Grief Week 6: Life After Life All supplies provided.
