1-day class - Friday, September 22 - 6:00 - 9:00pm Ages 14+ Learn relaxing weaving techniques on a metal mesh loom! This workshop is great for beginners, and all levels, especially those that think they are not creative. You can DO this! Bring a friend, or meet new ones while you create a lovely wall hanging. Choose your own color palette from a large assortment of fibers. The design is up to you, with lots of guidance from experienced teacher and artist, Barbara Balkin. All materials are provided, however, bringing any objects or fibers of your own will enhance your art (lace, yarns, feathers, grasses, flowers with stems, beads, etc.). If you've attended Barbara's Weaving workshops before, you'll learn new techniques each time, with lots of individual attention. All supplies provided. Just show up and create! Optional items to bring: - Fibers of your choice that you might want to incorporate in your design - Layered clothing, as the temperatures may fluctuate in our large building - Bottled water/beverage Scholarships for this and all of our other classes are available for those who otherwise would not be able to attend art classes, thanks to generous donations to our Art Start Fund. If you would like to make classes available to others, see our sponsorships page to contribute a monthly or one-time donation. Thank you for supporting (y)our commUNITY! *This class is included in our Teacher Share program, which allows our teachers to expand their knowledge and skills by learning from one another at no cost.
