One-day workshop: Sunday, May 4, 1:30pm - 3:30pm Ages 15+ Register for this workshop from this class listing, or save on your registration with a multi-class multipass! In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the art of herringbone wire wrapping, with a focus on creating a beautiful bead focal point for your piece. You will learn how to do a two core wire weave and bail by using a top-drilled bead to create a fidget spinner pendant. This class is perfect for those new to jewelry making, as well as artists looking to add a new skill to their creative repertoire. All supplies will be provided by your instructor, Maryann Weed, or by Catalyst! Optional items to bring: - Water in a spill-proof container - Layered clothing Maryann Weed has been wire wrapping for over 12 years and loves sharing her skills with others while watching her students create beautiful pieces. In her classes, students can choose from her extensive collection of natural gemstones for their projects. Alongside her passion for jewelry-making, Maryann is also a professional cosplayer and clown/balloon artist, raising funds for children's charities through performances at events like the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Scholarships for this and all of our other classes are available for those who otherwise would not be able to attend art classes, thanks to generous donations to our Art Start Fund.
