Service Description
3-week course - Mondays, November 27 - December 11 - 6:00 - 8:30pm Want to feel at more at peace in your body this holiday season? Join Carrie Panzer, LCSW, Licensed Be Body Positive Facilitator, for this expressive arts series. For many, the holidays are a time of joy, and simultaneous sadness. This can lead to fatigue and a lapse in much needed self-care. Based on the Be Body Positive Model (https://thebodypositive.org/5-competencies), Carrie will teach you powerful Competencies to help you develop resources and cultivate renewed energy to take care of your body during the holiday season. Each week during the series we’ll come back together to share our triumphs and our struggles. Over the course, you'll discover ways to reclaim health, practice intuitive self-care, cultivate self-love, declare your own authentic beauty, and build community. This series is open to all skill levels and identities, and will use a mix of personal and interactive exercises, short guided meditations, and expressive journaling and collage. Please bring the following supplies with you: - 9x12 or 11x14 sketchbook with blank pages, spiral bound or other, that will lie flat when opened - Optional: Any journaling/art materials that you might like to use (many options will also be provided) All other materials are included. Disclaimer: Please be aware that these non-clinical sessions aren't confidential and participants shouldn't reveal anything they don't want to be publicly known. If there are any signs of self-harm or harm to others, the facilitator is required by law to call the police to seek help. We cannot treat any illnesses. Scholarships for this and all of our other classes are available for those who otherwise would not be able to attend art classes, thanks to generous donations to our Art Start Fund.
