3-week course: March 11 - 25, 6:30pm - 8:00pm Ages 12+ Enhance your "artist's eye" to perceive shapes, lines, shadows, and perspective, thus strengthening your drawing skills. This course is designed to establish a solid drawing foundation for beginners and serve as a refresher for those with prior drawing experience. Sketching is a fundamental artistic skill that demands little investment yet offers significant returns. "The Art of Seeing: Pencil Drawing for Beginners" is designed to enhance your “artist’s eye” for perceiving shapes, lines, shadows, and perspective, thus generally strengthening your drawing skills, and will help beginners establish a solid drawing foundation while serving as a refresher for those with prior drawing experience. This course is advantageous for anyone keen on honing their drawing abilities through exercises and the practice of truly observing what they aim to sketch! Please bring the following with you: - Strathmore 300 Series (or similar) Drawing Paper Pad, Top Wire Bound, 9x12 inches, 50 Sheets (70lb/114g) - Charcoal - Colored Pencil - Ink - Pastel - Marker - Faber-Castell Graphite Sketch Pencil Set (or similar), 6 Graphite Pencils (2H, HB, B, 2B, 4B, 6B) - Drawing Pencils and Sketching Supplies - Kneaded Eraser Optional to bring: - Layered clothing, as the temperatures may fluctuate in our building - Water/beverage with lid About your instructor: Lisa Hlavinka is an artist based in Meridian, Idaho, specializing in nature and animal art. Her passion for creating meaningful art has led her to share her knowledge of the artistic process with others. Lisa offers original artwork, art prints, custom artwork, and animal portraits. Her goal is to create art pieces that are cherished and collected. With extensive experience in creating art, Lisa stands out for her specialization in nature and animal art, as well as her commitment to fostering a love for art in others.
